Synopsis

A dramatic comedy set during the final hours of Marilyn Monroe's life, August 4–5, 1962. Marilyn awakens in limbo and discovers she must audition for heaven. Her judges are 13 aborted babies who confront her about her choices, her sexuality, and her humanity. Through a series of visions, scenes, and confrontations with figures from her life, Marilyn seeks redemption and understanding as she faces the ultimate performance.

Characters: MARILYN MONROE, AGENT (voice), THIRTEEN ABORTED BABIES, various celestial beings

Setting: Marilyn's house, 5 Helena Drive, Los Angeles. Limbo and heaven. The final hours, August 4–5, 1962.

Performance History: Performed in Norway and Kansas City; workshopped at Actors Studio, NYC. Featured in Breaking Character Magazine (Samuel French Publishers).
